Cape Jaffa Wines :: Cape Jaffa Sauvignon Blanc 2008

CAPE JAFFA
Sauvignon Blanc 2008
MOUNT BENSON

The Cape Jaffa range showcases Mount Benson's qualities as a premium wine growing region, with fruit source predominantly from our biodynamic vineyards at Cape Jaffa.

Our sauvignon blanc comes from low yielding vines hand-pruned and carefully managed using biodynamic techniques.  2008 saw a vintage of extremes, with record-breaking temperatures in March proceeded a cooler-than-average February, allowing for gentle ripening. With virtually no rain leading up to vintage, grapes arrived in excellent condition.  A hands-on and gentle winemaking process has preserved the exceptional fruit characters from our vineyards in this vintage’s sauvignon blanc. The winemaking was undertaken with a focus on minimal intervention, allowing great regionality and varietal expression.

On the nose this sauvignon blanc showcases a fruit cocktail of peach and melon with hints of lemon sorbet.  This gives way to a well-structured palate with good fruit weight and a refreshingly dry finish.

About the 2007 Cape Jaffa Sauvignon Blanc
"(Cape Jaffa's) wines already jump with the sheer concentration of flavour the best bio-D dudes display... More complexity than any Hills savvy… 93++ points"
Philip White, Adelaide Independent Weekly, 22 September 2007
"...These grapes are handled with precision to reveal a mix of tropical fruits and grassiness, a stylish layer of minerality and an orange zest note. Keep an eye on this one, and also a delish 2004 cabernet… 92 points"
Tony Love, Adelaide Advertiser, 23 October 2007
