CAPE JAFFA The Cape Jaffa range showcases Mount Benson's qualities as a premium wine growing region, with fruit source predominantly from our biodynamic vineyards at Cape Jaffa. The 2006 vintage was an excellent year for shiraz due to the dry growing season and moderate temperature, allowing us to achieve an ideal balance between varietal aromas and ripe fruit. This shiraz was fermented mainly in open concrete tanks where it was laboriously plunged by hand before being run into French oak barriques and aged for 18 months. Only natural and organic fining agents were used. The bouquet comprises aromas of violets, blackberry and cigarbox, laced with black pepper, while the palate shows great structure and depth of flavour with a savoury finish. Presenting fine tannins, the oak is well integrated and the overall effect is generous and mouth-filling. Alcohol/Volume Peak drinking Serving suggestion |
