LA LUNE The La Lune range showcases wines which express true regionality and varietal distinctiveness with each vintage. 2008 sees Cape Jaffa achieve its first fully certified fruit, and this Rosé becomes our first fully certified wine to leave the vineyard under the La Lune label. A challenging vintage due to extreme temperatures in early March meant fruit ripened quickly, but with little rain leading up to vintage berries arrived in excellent condition. The fruit for this rosé was picked earlier than those shiraz blocks marked for red wine production, meaning the fruit was harvested at the perfect maturity, ripeness and acidity levels to produce a dry, refreshing style of rosé. The berries were whole punch pressed allowing very limited contact with skins to achieving a bright ruby-red colour. Raspberry confectionary, rose petals and hints of marzipan form the delicate nose of this biodynamic rosé, while the palate is light-bodied and refreshing, with natural shiraz fruit sweetness and a lingering finish.
