LA LUNE The La Lune range showcases wines which express true regionality and varietal distinctiveness with each vintage. The 2007 vintage was warm and dry and provided excellent conditions for ripening fruit. We generally saw lower yields across the region and berries were smaller than usual but more intense in flavour.
Hand-picked fruit was used in the making of this blend, comprised of 84% semillon and 16% sauvignon blanc and produced with components of natural yeast and high solids fermentation. 70% of the blend was aged on lees with minimal sulphur, and true to the traditional style, 100% of the sauvignon blanc component was fermented in new French barriques while the semillon was put into older barriques. Production is limited to around 250 cases or 10 barriques. This wine features strong aromas of citrus, honeysuckle and cloves, while the palate is rich and textured, with good natural acidity and an old world style savoury finish.
