Jaffa to throw mid-winter warming Sunday Session

Cape Jaffa Wines offers locals and visitors to the Mount Benson region a chance to enjoy local fare at its first Sunday Session, Jaffa-style, 4 July 2010, 11am-5pm

MOUNT BENSON – 16 June 2010: Mount Benson’s founding winery and first fully certified biodynamic winegrower on the Limestone Coast Cape Jaffa Wines (www.capejaffawines.com.au) will hold its first Sunday Session, Jaffa-style on Sunday 4 July 2010, between 11am and 5pm.

The mid-winter event looks to provide both locals and visitors alike a chance to take in some great Limestone Coast fare and talent, including a scrumptious lunch provided by Adam Brooks Catering and now Adelaide-based band The Happy Leonards providing the soundtrack to what should be a great day for the whole family.

“We’re looking forward to putting on our first Sunday Session,” says Leah Sourris, brand manager of Cape Jaffa Wines.  “Winter can get us all a bit down but we’re looking to turn the heat up with good food and great wines.

“The Happy Leonards always manage to get the crowds going, so there should also be a fair bit of dancing to be had too, which should warm things up!”

The event will be held in Jaffa’s atmospheric barrel hall, so come rain or shine the show will go on, and entry to the event is just $5 for adults (kids enter free), including a complimentary commemorative Cape Jaffa wine glass and wine on arrival.  Lunches start at $10 per person, and soft drinks will also be available for the kids and designated drivers.

The Hoopers are also busy tasting a few sort-after museum wines, including their much-coveted 2005 Siberia Shiraz, which they plan to have on offer for purchase in mixed dozens on the day.

Cape Jaffa will also provide buses to and from the event out of Kingston, with a 10.15am departure from the Royal Mail Hotel on the day, and Robe, with a 10.45am departure from the Robe Visitor Information Centre, with return trips departing from 4.30pm.  Tickets including this return bus trip will only set you back $15 for adults (including entry to the event), and $5 for kids.  Bookings are essential, so call Cape Jaffa Wines on 8768 5053 to book your seat.
