Cape Jaffa commended for tourism efforts

Cape Jaffa Wines receives commendation at the 2008 Limestone Coast WIN Television Excellence in Tourism Awards

MOUNT BENSON – 3 July 2008:The Limestone Coast’s first fully-certified biodynamic vineyard Cape Jaffa Wines (www.capejaffawines.com.au) has been recognised in this year’s Limestone Coast WIN Television Excellence in Tourism Awards, picking up a commendation in the Cellar Door category.

Entries for the awards took the form of a questionnaire-based submission, in which entrants were required to evaluate their marketing activities, professional development procedures, environmental initiatives and contribution to the local community.

“The local tourism industry is really important to us,” says general manager Derek Hooper    . “Our cellar door customers are not only an integral part of building national awareness of Cape Jaffa, but extremely important in lifting the profile of the Limestone Coast and all it has to offer. There’s nowhere else in South Australia that you can visit award-wining wineries, world heritage caves, ride great waves and eat world-class seafood, all in the space of one day. Visitors to the Limestone Coast are really spoilt for choice.
“Evaluating our businesses through this submission also helped us see the positives we’re achieving on a day-to-day basis, and has made us think more about how we can improve our business practices to achieve that little bit more.”
The commendation puts Cape Jaffa in good stead for its entry into the South Australia Tourism Awards, for which nominations are currently due.
