LA LUNE The La Lune range showcases wines which express true regionality and varietal distinctiveness with each vintage. The 2009 vintage afforded Mount Benson fruit a long and slow growing season ideal for capturing the unique varietal characters. Even ripening and dry conditions meant that grapes arrived in exceptional condition and quality was very good. This premium red was fermented in open top concrete tanks with minimal winemaking intervention and hand plunged twice daily, before extended maceration on skins for two weeks. It was matured in new French oak barriques for 24 months. Production is limited to around 250 cases or ten barriques. Brooding dark berry aromas on the nose with enticing spicy notes and hints of black pepper. A full bodied but elegant wine with rich sweet fruit and silky tannins. Finishes super smooth with great length of flavour. Alcohol/Volume Peak drinking Serving suggestion |
