2021 Cape Jaffa Barbera
Style: A light to medium-bodied style, made to drink now.
The Inspiration: This moreish red is a European summer holiday meets Robe SA in a bottle. We took out the extra fuss. The wine was crushed straight into our open top fermenter and left on skins for 10 days with twice daily gentle pump overs. Limited edition wine.
Tasting Notes: Aromatics of red cherries, light florals, red berries, and a distinct earthiness that is synonymous with this variety. On the palate, a bouncy acid line that drives delicate florals and light red fruits with hints of earthy undertones and wild strawberries. A wine that is supported with plush and round tannins.
Cellaring: This wine is made to drink while young and fruity – so enjoy it with your friends now!
Food Pairing: Given the high acidity, fatty foods work beautifully with Barbera wine. Think red meats and even salmon is a gorgeous pairing.
