
2021 Cape Jaffa Rosé
Style: We like to be candid in the fact that we are striving for those everyday drinking style wines and our Rosé is a textural and luscious take on this.
The Inspiration: A textural and complex take on the evolving door of Rosé.
Made from predominately Shiraz grapes, we picked the Shiraz early in the morning, and early in the season, to achieve a vibrant floral driven bomb! It was fermented in stainless steel with a few solids as to gain some complexity in the final product.
To achieve the right aromatics, we blended small portions of Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris. Skin contact is the aim of the game with a good Rosé, and with just a bit of it (being a few hours) we achieved this beautiful salmon hue.
Tasting notes: Mellow florals and notes of rosewater, with undertones of confectionary watermelon.
Cellaring: This wine is made to drink now. Enjoy it with your favourite people or by yourself.
Food Pairing: Think fresh food, especially seafood with fresh bread. The texture means this wine can stand up to things you otherwise wouldn’t expect like a decadent crayfish sandwich.
