Cape Jaffa Rose
Style: Fresh and bright, medium bodied style
The inspiration: Certain varieties lend themselves to Rose and I feel that Shiraz is one of them.
This wine is always 100% Shiraz grapes purposely picked for rose, gently pressed, rather than a run-off style. Made in a simple fruit forward style that’s both refreshing and flexible to drink by itself or with food. The fruit has very vibrant strawberry and confectionary aromas. Made in a dry style with no residual sugar however the bright juicy fruit feels deceptively sweet in the mouth.
Cellaring: This is a fruit driven wine, at its best in its youth however it will evolve into a more tertiary and complex style in the bottle over up to two to three years.
Food pairing: Versatility is rosés greatest claim to fame. It’s ideally suited to light fresh Summery food and lunchtime occasions. Think Seafood bouillabaisse, antipasto and Mediterranean food.
